How are these speakers optimised for Sonos Amp?
When connected, Sonos Amp will automatically detect these speakers and optimise the sound. Amp also enables Trueplay tuning for these speakers with a supported iOS device.
What type of wire should be used to connect the speakers to Amp?
You should use 16ga or larger wire that is rated for use within walls and ceilings.
How many In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance can be powered by a single amplifier?
A single Sonos Amp can power up to three pairs, or six total. Other amplifiers can power only two pairs or four total.
Can these speakers be installed outdoors?
These speakers are not rated for outdoor use and should only be installed indoors.
Where should I instal these speakers?
Place your speakers in locations that will provide smooth and evenly balanced coverage. If the room is large, a second or third pair of speakers is recommended for the optimal listening experience. If you want to use these speakers as part of a surround sound system for a home cinema, they should be installed above and slightly behind the primary seating position.
Will these replace my existing in-ceiling speakers?
If your cutout is the same diameter as that of the speaker (8.25"), it will fit and may require a small amount of drywall be removed. If the cutout is larger, drywall will be required to patch and re-cut a hole to fit.
